It's been just over a week since I completed my first year at Ryerson! The beginning of the four-month-long holidays has just begun and the excitement level is getting high! It has been quite a progressive week, I must say. I have checked quite a few things off my to-do list including, giving my room a belated spring cleaning. After removing all unnecessary junk from my closet, including my winter attire, I have left it all to sit in a corner on my bedroom floor in hopes that it may magically walk itself to sit in an empty corner of my basement. It's been three days and let me tell you: no such magic has occured!
Along with completing chores, I have made time for my friends and family. Friday night, a few of my friends and I decided to go out for dinner at a halal pizza and wings place; a night out that was long overdue! We caught up on old times and discussed our plans for the future. It's kind of amazing how our mindsets have changed in less than a year since we completed high school. After dinner, we let our somewhat "crazy" sides kick in and went to smoke some sheesha at Alexandria's, which was just next door to Pizzaland, where we had dinner. After cracking up many jokes and being slightly immature making fun of everyone that walked in to the sheesha bar, we left for a quick coffee and made our way home. A great night with great company!
Saturday, I left for buffalo at 7 a.m. with my mom, aunt and little cousin. It was shopping time! We reached our destination at approximately 12 p.m. and began our shopping spree right away. Though I wasn't so lucky in getting the things I wanted, I still managed to spend almost $250. Now that I think about it, what did I buy? Just three tops, four t-shirts, three pairs of pants and two pairs of sandals and a few bathroom accessories. Did I get good bargain? I'm confused! Nevertheless, I am still satisfied with my purchases!
This next week brings excitement too! Water aerobics, an indian concert and breakfast with my whole family. Let the holidays begin!

So, what's the hype?
As I am currently attempting to complete my first year in Journalism at Ryerson University, I have met many people on my journey thus far that have made this road a smooth and pleasant one for me. These also-aspiring journalists, my fellow classmates, have explained to me the importance of exercising my writing skills as I continue to make my way through these next few brutal years of university. So what am I supposed to write about? The news? School? Life? Well, apparently, I was told...anything! And hence, here I am, writing away, hardly caring about what I say or how I say it! So, what's the hype? Well, I am here to find out!
